Frequently Asked Questions

Your questions answered about our clinical trial and ViTAL SCAN.

ViTAL-SCAN is a combination of nutraceuticals (Vitamin C, Taurine, Acetyl L-Carnitine, Serine/Sarcosine, Creatine/Citrulline, Acetylcysteine/Arginine, and NMN). These compounds may support energy metabolism, reduce inflammation, and improve physical and cognitive function.

Joining the trial offers access to cutting-edge nutraceuticals, personalized health monitoring, and the chance to contribute to important medical research that benefits the community.

You may qualify if you:

  • Developed PACVS symptoms within 2 weeks after COVID-19 vaccination.

  • Have symptoms lasting 6 months or longer without major improvement.

  • Meet the diagnostic criteria for ME/CFS (chronic fatigue, post-exertional malaise, unrefreshing sleep, and either brain fog or orthostatic intolerance).

You cannot participate if you:

  • Have never received a COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Had a COVID-19 infection during the first 14 days after vaccination.

  • Have another medical explanation for your symptoms (e.g., untreated thyroid disease, anemia, major depression).

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If enrolled, you will:

  • Be randomly assigned to ViTAL-SCAN or a placebo group.

  • Attend visits at the study clinic in Houston, Texas.

  • Complete surveys, blood and urine tests, heart rate monitoring, and a six-minute walking test.

  • Take the assigned supplement daily for 3 months.

  • Return for follow-up visits to track your progress.

All participants will receive detailed information about possible side effects before joining. The supplements used in ViTAL-SCAN are commonly available and generally considered safe, but mild digestive issues, taste differences, or other minor effects may occur.

No monetary compensation will be provided. However, all study-related tests and supplements are free of charge. Participants are responsible for their own travel to the clinic.

All personal information will be anonymized. Your samples and test results will be coded with a unique ID, and your identity will not be shared outside the study team.

Currently, there are no proven treatments for PACVS. This trial is one of the first to scientifically test whether metabolic support through supplements can improve symptoms and quality of life for those affected.
